Tim, originally from Burton, lived at YMCA Burton for 14 months after suffering from a relationship breakdown at home.
Tim said whilst living with YMCA Burton, and being able to access support sessions he came to learn and accept that what had happened was not his fault, and they helped him regain his confidence.
Lee, his support worker suggested he start a Princes Trust scheme which, through team building activities taught him skills in leadership and communication.
He credits his time spent with the YMCA as leading him to become employed, boost his self-confidence and self-esteem. He also now volunteers for the Princes Trust to help other young people.
When asked what people can do to help, he believes people should donate to charities such as the YMCA as it not only helps people but also raises awareness of the ever-growing homelessness issue we are faced with.
Tim took part in the last Sleepout to raise awareness.
